Is Space Exploration Really Worth It?

There is a new debate in my class about space exploration and is it really worth it. I am in the middle because I can see the pros and cons of it. Today I will tell you what my thinking is for both sides.

Why it's bad

I think it's bad because they cost MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars and this money could be given to people who need it. More than 80% of earths population lives on only 2 dollars a day! but instead of helping them our tax dollars go to earth explorations and that just doesn't seem right.

Why it's good

We live in a vast and unknown universe. We don't know what's out there. We are like caged in animals with a dying light bulb looking for a new place to live. I honestly feel scared for what's in space like unknown aliens, wormholes, black holes, the sun, supernovas, I could go on and on but that would be another whole post. The more we find out about space the better, we can feel safer knowing what's out there.

What do you think about the topic?

Say hello in many different languages

Image result for say helloI started a independant project (a project I did on my own) where I would look up on my device how to say hello in different languages. my first goal was to hit 100 but i couldn't get that far with out my middle school mind losing intrest in it. But before my brain gave up I noticed that most languages have connections to each other and that interested me. The reason why is now I want to know if all of the languages are connected in some way. Do you know anyways to say hello in different languages?

What is love?

What is "love"? Why do we desire to be "loved"? Why do we "love"? These are the three things I am wondering about right now. Also why is the heart a symbol of love. Well lets find out!

Definition of love

The word love means "a intense feeling of deep affection" This kinda answers my first question but I am going to keep searching for answers.

What is love (Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, No more.)

In this website I have found what love is, "Love is a force of nature"  says Deborah Anapol a psychologist If you would like to view more of her definition of love here is the link.

Why do we desire to be loved

" The need to be loved, as Bowlby’s and others’ experiments have shown, could be considered one of our most basic and fundamental needs" says another psychologist Raj Raghunathan. He goes on to tell other facts like: We need love in a form of physical contact, babies that aren't shown enough love can grow up psychologically damaged, and etc. Here is the link.

Why do people love

There are many reasons that people love like: Similarity, Propinquity, and Desirable Characteristics says psychologist Berit Brogaard, . She goes on to tell 8 more reasons why in this website .

My conclusion to all of my questions is: Now I understand why people want to be loved but now I wonder are there diffrent ways that people love each other and How do you love yourself?

What team? WILDCATS

Image result for high school musical all characters
Have you ever done something different, something that all your friends thought was weird at first, well I did and it was amazing and I'll never forget it. This year I tried out for my school musical/play "High School Musical" and I am really glad that I did. My drama teacher Ms. Foster made the experience even more great by giving me a pretty awesome role. I played as Zeke Baylor a basketball jock who likes to bake and has a crush on the star actress Sharpay Evans. The amount of time and effort that everyone that was included had put into it was amazing. At first I thought I was going to get a backup roll and I was fine with that but when I got a supporting roll I knew there was no turning back now and i gave it all I could and alot of people said we did awesome. I just want to thank everyone who supported me and all the new friends I have made. GO WILDCATS!

How to throw like a pro!

In this video Mack Strong a former NFL QB teaches you how to throw like a pro. He gives you tips and tricks on how the quarterbacks in the league throw the beautiful looking spirals. Right now I can throw a spiral but cannot throw very far and after practicing and watching this video again I believe I can be able to throw like a pro!

Yellow Fever

I have heard about the black death that killed about 1/4 of Europe's population in the middle ages, but have you heard about the rampaging yellow fever which happened in our own country only about 300 years ago? No, well make sure you've had all your vaccines because once I tell you about it you wont forget.

About The Book

In Language Arts we have worked on Historical Fiction books and my group picked the book "Fever 1793' by Laurie Halse Anderson. At first I thought it would just be another book project that would be boring and I would just be finished it and felt nothing but, The way that Anderson wrote the book was amazing to me a example of this in the book a character dies and I really felt sad because in the book it makes you feel like you know the character like they are part of you and the way she described the death and set the scene was so amazing that I really wanted to cry.

The Real Fever

At first I thought that the yellow fever was inspired by the Black Death that killed a third of the Middle Ages but the yellow fever was real and it was deadly if not treated well. The yellow fever was a plague that hit not just America but also Europe and Spain. The yellow fever had symptoms like

  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Muscle aches, particularly in your back and knees
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Nausea, vomiting or both
  • Loss of appetite
  • Dizziness
  • Red eyes, face or tongue
It also cause the skin and eyes to turn a yellowish color this symptom is called Jaundice

Even though you almost never see this plague, you never know what could happen in this crazy world so make sure you get all your vaccines.

#2 Wonder Question

This is my 2nd wonder question

  1.  What are feelings/emotions, Like how does your body or your mind know what type of feelings you should have. How does your body know that you should be sad or angry and how does your body know your face should get red when you are angry or when you should cry when you are sad

If you have a answer to one of my wonder questions Please comment it
